Galvanized pipe inspection method
1. Appearance inspection: Use tools such as naked eye or magnifying glass to check whether the surface of the galvanized pipe is smooth and flat, and whether there are defects such as peeling, bubbles, cracks, scratches, zinc nodules, and missed plating. At the same time, check the thickness and uniformity of the galvanized layer to ensure that the galvanized layer is fully covered and there are no local uncoated or overly thin coatings.
2. Size measurement: Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to accurately measure the outer diameter, wall thickness, and length of galvanized pipes, ensuring that they meet the requirements of relevant standards and specifications. In addition, it is necessary to evaluate the straightness and cross-sectional ellipticity of galvanized pipes to ensure their shape accuracy.
3. Chemical composition analysis: By using spectroscopic analyzers and other equipment, the chemical composition of the base material and galvanized layer of galvanized pipes is analyzed to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
4. Mechanical performance testing: Use universal testing machines and other equipment to conduct tensile and bending tests on galvanized pipes to evaluate their tensile strength, yield strength, toughness, and bending resistance.
5. Adhesion test of galvanized layer: The bonding strength between the galvanized layer and the steel pipe substrate is inspected through methods such as grid drawing and pull-out testing to ensure that its bonding strength meets the requirements.
6. Corrosion resistance test: Conduct accelerated corrosion tests such as salt spray test, simulate actual environmental conditions, and evaluate the corrosion resistance of galvanized pipes.
7. Non destructive testing: Non destructive testing techniques such as ultrasonic, X-ray, and liquid penetrant testing are used to detect internal defects in galvanized pipes, such as cracks and inclusions.
8. Welding performance testing (if applicable): For galvanized steel pipes that need to be welded, the performance of the welded parts should also be tested, including the strength and sealing of the welded joints.
9. Issue a testing report: After completing the above tests, a detailed testing report should be issued, which should include information such as testing items, testing methods, testing results, conclusions, etc., and indicate the standards and specifications on which the testing is based.
